Globe Wins Big at Arts Alive Awards

 
Lois and Al Fraser are presented the Halton Hills Cultural Round Table's
Arts Alive Award for Patron of the Arts by Mayor Rick Bonnette

On Friday, January 21st and Saturday, January 22nd  the Halton Hills Cultural Round Table hosted its annual Cultural Symposium in the beautifully restored Acton Town Hall.  (See Inside Halton article about the Town Hall restoration project.)

A highlight of the weekend was the presentation of the Arts Alive Awards celebrating philanthropy, volunteerism and excellence in the arts community.  Awarded every five years, the award categories are:

- The Ralph Ursel Award for Volunteerism
- The Kenneth R. Harrison Award for Youth Mentorship
- The Arts Alive Award for Patron of the Arts
- The Arts Alive Award for Visual Arts
- The Arts Alive Award for Performing Arts

Lois and Al Fraser were presented with the Arts Alive Award for Patron of the Arts for their exceptional support of a variety of artistic activities and organizations in Halton Hills.  

Globe's own Mary Bilik Udell was also awarded the Ralph Ursel Award for Volunteerism recognizing her extensive volunteer work in costuming 42 Globe shows.
